Would you like to further your Music Education for Accreditation, Revision or Enrichment?

WAMTA offers a range of courses where you can study in your own time, in the comfort of your own home.

Our Current Courses available are:

        1. Rudiments and Harmony
    1 year course

  2. History of Music
    1 year course

3. Aural Training
     2 year course

     4. Teaching Principles
      2 year course

Each course consists of two 12-week Semesters per year, commencing in February.

WHO CAN DO THE COURSES?

If you...

are a member of the WA Music Teachers’ Association (WAMTA)
have at least two years’ teaching experience
have achieved at least Grade Four Theory or equivalent
have achieved at least Grade 7 Piano Performance

YOU CAN!

Exemption from Rudiments and Harmony and History of Music may be possible, providing the applicant meets certain conditions.

A chance to fill in some of the gaps that we all have within our musical knowledge
Aural skills are often the weakest part of a teachers’ training, so this is a wonderful opportunity to build better skills. This course offers you the chance to study under some of WAMTA’s top Pedagogy lecturers’. This course is an essential for any developing teacher.

PREREQUISITES FOR ENROLMENT

All teachers’ taking these courses MUST agree to complete a full year.
For two-year courses, a break of only ONE year is permissible between parts 1 and 2.
Full payment for the year must be received in advance.
No refunds or credits will be granted for withdrawal or incompletion of the course EXCEPT for special circumstances and a doctor’s certificate will need to be provided.
Please note that all applications for enrolment and withdrawals MUST be made in writing.
